Version 0.9.0-beta.1 Beta
The first public beta of LetterForge for macOS and Windows.
New
- LetterForge as a desktop app for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows. No mail server setup needed: a finished letter opens as a draft in the mail program you already use - Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird or any other - and you press send there. Attachments come along (on Windows through a prepared draft file, elsewhere they are shown next to the draft).
- Email History reads the conversation from your mail program: Apple Mail on macOS, classic Outlook on Windows, Thunderbird on both, and Microsoft 365, Outlook.com and the new Outlook through "Sign in with Microsoft". Nothing is uploaded; LetterForge reads on your computer.
- LetterForge notices when a letter has gone out from your mail program and records it on the candidate. If it cannot tell, it asks "Did you send it?".
- Replies from candidates are picked up in the background and marked with a "New reply" badge on the board, and each reply is filed under the conversation it answers - also when the same person applied for several roles.
- Profile → Mail sources: choose which mail programs and accounts LetterForge reads, and sign in to or out of Microsoft.
- A native app menu with the usual Edit, View, Window and Help entries.
- Automatic updates: a new version downloads in the background and is installed the next time you start LetterForge. A notice in the app tells you when it is ready; nothing interrupts your work.
Changed
- The app opens straight on your candidate board when you are signed in, and stays signed in between starts.
- The letter window is tidier: meeting details sit in a collapsible "Add meeting" section, and files can be dropped anywhere on the window.
- The calendar is easier to read: today is highlighted, weekends are tinted.
Fixed
- Registering in the app no longer fails with "Page Expired".
- Replies that arrived while Apple Mail was closed are no longer missed.
- Low-contrast text on the Candidates list and in the mailbox check.
